"To ask more of a puppy would not be fair.House broken at 9 wks. and land and water retrieving at 11 wks.At 3 month he was pointing planted birds with his tail at 12 o'clock. Received his first 2 legs of his A.K.C. Jr. Hunt Test title at 6 months and 2 days old and his Hunt Test Title at 7 months.During the month of Oct. he handled NewEngland game birds ( woodcock,pheasant and grouse ) as if he was a seasoned dog.He is beautifully marked and has drawn rave from the judges and people that have seen him perform."

"I can’t ask for anything more from a dog. She is absolutely wonderful. She is just a joy to be around and is extremely well behaved. She is an incredible dog. She is an excellent listener and learns quickly. She learned to sit, stay and give you paw within the first few weeks. She house trained easily too. We never had a problem with her in the house. Not only is she a great house dog , but she also shows great potential in the field. She is constantly pointing at anything that moves. She is also a marvelous retriever!! She has been playing fetch since the first few days we brought her home. Just the other day she captured and retrieved a loose pigeon from our barn and brought it right back to us. The one thing that is absolutely extraordinary about her is her appeal. She is beautifully marked and has a great presence. I am constantly getting complements on her. Lilly is just a all around great dog."

"She's a very nice young dog doing it all. Very solid on
point & backing. She's about as classy a dog as your ever going to see whether shes running, standing around or on point. She creates a lot of interest at trials. She ran her 1st nstra trial a dbl dbl, she made a mistake or two but basically done well for her 1st time out considering she ran against 2 of the top 10 point dogs in the nation & 2007 NSTRA Dog Of The Year Glovers Nikki. She found birds everytime down. She scores in high 80's or 90, plus handles like a dream."

"He was pointing a quail that I shot for him. He had been pointing pigeons and holding until flush, so I thought I could reward him by shooting a bird for him. The last two times out I've planted a quail and shot it for him. He has been doing this naturally as I haven't done any yard work with him yet. So far shows promise."

"She's a great companion and a fantastic field dog. What you're seeing in these shots is all natural. I have not done any real formal training... just taken her into the field around other dogs and worked with her a little. That straight tail and raised paw just comes natural for her every time. Picture perfect! (In this case she was working a meadow lark of all things. She's just as pretty on quail and pheasant!!) Icing on the cake is her natural desire to retrieve."

" I couldn't ask for a better puppy. I retired so I spend a lot of time with him. We go out and walk at least a mile or more a day. He has a great temperament and seems to be friendly with everyone he meets. He goes to obedience school and can sit, down, heel, come, and currently is working on a stand and going around to the right of me to a heel and doing a finish to the left at my heel. He's picking it up quite easily. He plays fetch and brings it back, most of the time he will drop it or give it to me. I also like to do tricks with him. He shakes, almost can sit up. He has learned to spin to the right and turn to the left, we are working on the touch command and playing dead dog and crawling."
"We have been working on getting his Canine Good Citizenship Certificate and after that I'm going to put him in the therapy class so he can visit nursing homes and hospitals, at least that's my goal right now. When he gets his certificate we will be doing a little more agility work. I have had some private lessons lately for him and we were working on scent training and retrieving. He's pretty good about finding things when I hide them and am trying to get him to retrieve and hold different objects, something you might do if you had a service dog. He's still a great dog. My husband just commented the other day that he was probably the best dog we've ever had. "

"Jenny is great. Temperament is terrific - lots of personality - playful and mischievous but not in a bad way. Shy but confident, learns quickly. Everyone loves her and she returns the favor. Loves to be picked up and tuned over. She found her nose about 2 weeks ago. Now, nose in the air and sniffing the wind. Guns do not bother her - started with noise while eating and have gone to 22 pistol. I really feel that she would have been fine. When I got home she could not keep her nose out of my jacket. Very proud to carry feathers. We are progressing with retrieving - she comes on whistle if nothing is around but gets preoccupied and if she gets something wants to run away with it - very normal. She seems to work well with pheasant wings - will "find it" and bring it back while on 15 ft leash. She does seem to stand to point - tail up, nose in the air and does not pull too hard at the leash, but I am working on whoa. She has a very tender mouth."

"Roxy is doing great!!!! i don't think i have ever been around a pup that learns so fast. she was house trained at 11 weeks, and is such a pleasure to have around that when i get back to the office from doing field work i have to go look for her cuz my coworkers take her and play with her usually it is the big boss. Roxy started pointing right of the bat and will now hold point on a wild grouse for a good bit of time until she just cant take it any more. I cant wait to get her out hunting, our grouse season starts next week. she has been swimming a couple of times and doesn't seem to mind the water to much. Her spots all came in chestnut color and she is cute as a button. I just had her micro chipped last week and she is healthy as a horse and weighs 30 pounds."

"Another really productive session this weekend…ran Kate with 3 other setters up at the IWLA grounds…she had a blast and was exposed to shotgun fire from a distance (clay range)…no problems at all…Then worked her on a quail, she did great, locked up and stood with no pressure on the leash…very intent. Flushed the bird and she went nuts…put her up, shot 3 birds over 3 other dogs (from about 100 yards away) then got her out again…she was trembling she was so anxious. this is a photo of her on a pigeon, just before we flushed… I had her off leash at that point and she ran about 100 yards chasing the bird in the air…next week we’ll try a cap pistol after the flush, will wait until she’s intently chasing the bird."
"Jim, had a great weekend. Kate scored 9, 9, 9,7 on Saturday and 9.5, 9.5, 8, 8 on Sunday. She pointed 3 birds on the 1st trial and had 5! finds the second day."

"Max is doing well. He has a great temperment. My son is 1 and Max is very gentle with him. I couldnt have asked for a better personality. He is retrieving very well, placing the bird right in my hand. He has only seen 2 or 3 live birds but i have attached a picture of him pointing a frozen quail. When i play fetch with him in the house with toys, he will lock up before i send him for the retrieve. He seems to have a lot of intensity. i have some pics of him retrieving quail a week after i got him from you."
"I dont think Jim and Zach could have made a better pick. My pup Max has a perfect temperment for house life and is great with my 2 year old son. As far as hunting he has not seen a lot of birds. But great natural instincts and eagerness to please has made him a dream to train. At 10 months old Jim and Zach got to see him run his first trial, which was a NSTRA trial in Michigan. He ran back to back in the amateurs and took a 1st with 5 birds and 2nd with 3 birds. He is retrieving excellent, including water, is steady to wing and shot and i am looking forward to getting his senior hunt test this fall."

"Abe is doing great. So far he likes to race around the backyard with a toy or a stick and wait for us to catch him, and then he'll take off again. He did great around my niece and nephew (4 & 2 years old) when we took him back up to WI for Thanksgiving and gets along fine with other puppies in our once a week training class.Every now and then when he's outside he'll spot a rabbit and a couple of times he will point at it for a few seconds."
